The special meeting has been concluded recently. During the meeting, all the participants were divided into 15 sub-committees and held extensive discussions for three and half days at Gangchen Kyishong, the seat of Central Tibetan Administration on the specific agenda of "the Tibetan cause in the light of recent emergency events in Tibet and international scenario". Apart from these discussions, opinions were also received from Tibet, Tibetan settlements, organisations, educational centres and individuals.  At that time, I had not only discussed on the advantages and disadvantages of both the Rangzen (Complete Independence) and U-Mey Lam (Middle way approach), but also could collect no less number of opinions from the general public.

For the first time in exile history such special meeting is being held here in Dharamsala and it is equally essential to bring out concrete result with regards to the direction of the Tibetan struggle and clear objective of the struggle. No meeting like this was organized in the past and even it is difficult in future too. This special meeting is extremely important for having various delegates including Members of parliament, cabinet members, former MPs and Cabinet members, scholars, writers, government officials, people’s representatives and opinions of some around seventeen thousand people inside Tibet.

The two Envoys accompanied by their three assistants had gone to China to hold the eighth round of talks with the Chinese representatives in the beginning of this month. Although the Tibetan government in exile has announced that the statement regarding the eighth round of talks with Chinese representatives will not be publicized before the completion of the Special Meeting due to be held from November 17 but the statement related to the talk has already been publicized by the Chinese United Front Department.
