Ninth Tibetan Youth Leadership Training in Bangalore PDF Print E-mail

Bangalore: The ninth Tibetan Youth Leadership Training is being held from 1st to 6th January 2009 at Tibetan Youth Hostel, Bangalore. This training is organized by Tibetan Youth Congress aimed to prepare the future leaders of Tibet.

On its first day, Mr. Karma Choephel, former Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in Exile has been invited as the Chief Guest.

Mr. Tsewang Rigzin, the President of TYC has highlighted the purpose of this training in his introductory speech that the training is mainly for the Tibetan youths to know that Tibet is historically independent and they must be confident to tell this fact to others.

“Every Tibetan youth must be proud to be Tibetan and for that, everyone should know Tibet and its culture in history”, he said.

“We must not forget that we lost our freedom and Tibetans separated from each other and undergoing great pain in heart”, he added.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam meets H.H.The Dalai Lama PDF Print E-mail

DHARAMSHALA: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam arrived at Gaggal Airport near Dharamsala on January 2, 2009 where he met with the exiled Tibetan leader H.H.The Dalai Lama.

According to pubjabnewsonline, the former president A P J Abdul Kalam is on two-day visit to Himachal Pardesh. This is his second visit to the State after his previous tour as President in December 2004.

During his stay, Kalam plans to visit Hamirpur also. He’ll be attending a function at the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), Hamirpur on Saturday morning.

Warangal: When people across the four corners of the planet  were  busy celebrating in extreme joy over the arrival of a new year, 2009 with their families, relatives and friends. The Tibetan refugees sweater sellers in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh state had to start the global New Year with extreme pain in their hearts and inconsolable tears in their eyes.
 
    There are two different Tibetan sweater sellers’ associations in warangal and in one such association, where there are 13 families who do their sweater selling business for years in Hanamkonda parking place, in warangal, had tragedy struck upon them out of blue when their stalls and three out of five private run buses park their vehicles at night in the nearby Tibetan sweater sellers’ stalls were caught by fire on 1st January 2009 at around 1.30 a.m. mid night.

Tibet.net Dharamshala: Kalon Tripa Prof Samdong Rinpoche will deliver an address on Buddhism to an inter-faith conference titled “ World Religion – Dialogue and Symphony” to be held at Kailash Gurukul in Bhavnagar district in Gujarat, India, from 6 -11 January 2009. The conference will be inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The six-day world religious conference is an initiative of Shri Ram kathakar Morari Bapu to seek ways to find harmony among world religions.

Tibetan Women’s Leadership Program PDF Print E-mail

Dharamsala: The fourth annual Tibetan Women's Leadership Program was organized by Tibetan Women’s Association from 26-30 December, 2008 at Tibetan Youth Hostel, New Delhi.

Such program was initially started in 2005.

 

 The workshop was open to all Tibetan women who are attending college or postgraduate courses. The program aimed to foster leadership skills among Tibetan women.

 

Around twenty six female college students attended this five days’ program in Delhi.

 

TWA aimed through this program to inspire female participants, create awareness and confidence in leadership skills and encourage them to use these skills in their lives and communities.

 

TWA covered all the transportation and accommodation costs of all the participants.
