The Chinese Foreign Minister Mr. Yang Jiechi arrived New Delhi on September 8 and met with Indian leaders including Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. On that day,

the Tibetan Youth Congress staged protest march against the arrival of Yang Jiechi to India saying slogans like, “Repression is being continued in Tibet. No religious freedom in Tibet. No human rights in Tibet. Therefore, Chinese must quit Tibet. Tibet is an independent country.” A group of nine Tibetans were arrested in an attempt to protest outside the hotel where Yang Jiechi was staying. Yang Jiechi arrived Kolkotta on September 7 where he has inaugurated one branch office Chinese embassy. After arriving New Delhi on September 8, he had discussed on border issue and matters concerning bilateral trade with Indian leaders.
