Bod Kyi Bangchen - The Tibet Express , started as a fortnightly on 18 April 2003, in Dharamsala. On 25th April, 2005, on the occasion of its second founding anniversary, The Tibet Express has been published every ten days.
Gradually, on 18 th April, 2007, the fourth founding anniversary of The Tibet Express , it has been turned into a weekly newspaper which is the first ever independent weekly newspaper in Tibetan Society. So, these days, The Tibet Express is being published every Wednesday. It has also become the most popular, pervasive and prevalent Tibetan newspaper in the Tibetan society. It is being distributed in almost 17 countries of the world. Additionally, the two branch offices are already opened. One in the most populated Tibetan settlement Mundgod, Karnataka State and one in Katmandu , the capital city of Nepal . The printing of the weekly newspaper is being done at centre and its two agencies simultaneously which definitely helps the readers to get the news, advertisements, etc. on time. Since then it has become one of the favorite newspapers of the exile Tibetan community. Our readership, since our humble beginnings, has expanded by leaps and bounds. To cater to the need of our readers in the west and, most importantly, to our readers in Tibet and China, we keep matters related to human rights, democracy, environment, health education, interviews, articles, opinions, statements, advertisements and some important news stories in our Tibetan website. Some of the very important news stories are being translated into English language for our English language website.
